Consent

Nina Raine’s critically-acclaimed ‘modern classic’ (The Times) Consent, makes a timely and triumphant transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre for a strictly limited season.

What is justice, what is vengeance, and which is right? Friends take opposing briefs in a contentious legal case. The key witness is a woman whose life seems a world away from theirs. At home, their own lives begin to unravel as every version of the truth is challenged.

Directed by Roger Michell, Consent takes a searing look at the law whilst putting modern relationships into the dock in ‘a play you’ll be talking about for a long time to come’ (Radio Times).

★★★★★ "A Modern Classic...a hotly topical play with as much human life as we've seen on the West End stage for a long time". - The Times

★★★★★ “Essential viewing. This is a play you’ll be talking about for a long time to come.” - Radio Times

★★★★ “Riveting account of imploding metropolitan lives. This piece couldn’t be more timely” - Telegraph

★★★★ “This bracingly clever, bleakly funny play offers no easy answers to any of its questions: what is justice, what is vengeance, and which is right?” - Guardian

★★★★ “A vivid, thoughtful and immensely resonant play” - Financial Times

Wanted to see this play at National Theatre so was pleased when it transferred to West End. Great Cast. Lots of humour in spite of very serious content. The second half was surprising. Didn't anticipate what was going to happen...........
